2013; China; Beijing; At the entrance of the Temple of Great Charity; Guang If; Buddhist flags. This flag was designed in 1884-85 by the Colombo Comitee; adopted by the World Federation of Buddhism in 1950. The flag uses five symbolic colors of the aura of the Buddha during his Enlightenment. They represent the five sources of development essential to Buddhist practice.
