IOANNIS POLEMIS [1862-1925]was a Greek poet; part of the 1880s revivalist movement in Greek poetry.He was born in 1862 in Athens; though his family hailed from the island of Andros in the Cyclades. He died in 1925.Polemis' poetry is written in straightforward; simple language and has long been included in Greek primary school textbooks.
