Lampa; Peru; tomb of Enrique Torres Bel髇; detail of skulls lining lower level of wall. The tomb of the wealthy local politician Bel髇 was constructed in the 1960s as a large silo under the parish church. The skeletons lining its walls are those of colonial Spaniards; Bel髇 traced his ancestry to them; and the church allowed a dispensation to exhume them for use in the tomb. Bel髇's wife is buried with him in the tomb. Photo; 2010.
