La Paz; Bolivia; FELCC; skull of Bolivia. The veneration of 馻titas skulls is also practiced by some police bureaus (FELCC is a national police agency); where the skulls are used to solve crimes. Most famous among these is the homicide division in the El Alto district of La Paz. Two skulls; Juanito and Juanita; are present in the interrogation room. Primarily detectives make offerings to them in the hopes of obtaining clues in difficult cases. Juanita is pictured here.
