Bori; Tana Toraja; Indonesia; stone graves. On the island of Sulawesi; these graves are carved into a large boulder. They represent both personal and family tombs. The doors of many of the tombs are carved with the likeness of a buffalo head; and buffalo horns are attached--the buffalo is a sign of status and luxury in Torajan culture. Tombs like this can be hundreds of years old; and can be reused many times. Photo 2013.
