Wamba; Spain; charnel house in a courtyard attached to the town's medieval; Mozarabic parish church. The ossuary is the largest in Spain; yet is in a very small village. The oldest remains date to c. 1200. At that time; the property was in the possession of the Knights Hospitallers; who probably founded the charnel. The bones are no longer their original room; having been moved to another room in the 20th century. Many have been taken away for study. Photo 2010.
