Yemrehana Kristos; Ethiopia; body in coffin behind church. The church is near Lalibela; and named after a famed Ethiopian king; who reigned in the late 11th and early 12th centuries. This was believed to be his church; and his tomb is credited with being behind it. The church is built into a cave; and behind it is a large charnel ground with the bodes of many generations of ecclesiastics and pilgrims to the site. Some of the remains may be nearly a millennium old; and are simply lying in heaps; but there is still this one well preserved coffin containing a body. The identity is unknown. Photo 2013.
