Brno; Czech Republic; display under church of St. James. The remains of a very large; dilapidated charnel were discovered by accident during work to the street in the town's center; and restoration of it began in 2001. It is one of the largest charnels in Europe; and some estimates claim it may have held the remains of up to 50000 people. The bones were found in disarray; and the reconstructed displays were based on the kind of things seen at other charnels. It is being promoted as a potential tourist attraction. Photo 2007.
