He wears an ornately embroiders jacket and coat over stockings and shoes. The costumes were drawn from tapestries; monumental effigies; illuminated manuscripts and portraits. Charles and Leopold Martin were the sons of the romantic artist and mezzotint engraver John Martin (1789-1854).
