Only the Beggar is not visited by the figure of Death. Instead; this wretch sits forlornly on his crutches outside the town walls as people enter with only a glance in his direction. A young woman looks down on him from an upstairs window. This image was probably added to an earlier edition of the 鈥楧ance of Death' to pad the number of pages.
