Glass Wedjat-eye plaque. These tiny fragments; possibly inlays from shrines and furniture; were made from polychrome glass canes laid side by side to create a picture. The rods were fused; left to cool; stretched to miniaturise; then sliced to form each piece. Country of Origin: Egypt. Culture: Ancient Egyptian. Date / Period: Graeco-Roman 3rdC BC-1stC AD. Place of Origin: Alexandria. Material Size: 1.3 x 1.3cms.
