The angry Laksmana has reached the gate of Kiskindha, where he is welcomed by Angada, Bali's son, and other monkeys. Inside the palace the crowned Sugriva, seated with the wise Tara on a couch, is slowly brought round from his slothful inebriation. His general Hanuman tells him that autumn has now arrived and with it the time for action, and advises him to appease Laksmana's wrath by humble submission
