MAZES - MAGIC SYMBOLS - NUMEROLOGY Plate 113 from the British Library Manuscript, Paradoxa, Emblemata, Aenigmata, Hieroglyphica, de Uno, toto, Puncto, Centro, by Dionysius Andreas Freher. Freher was born in Nuremberg in 1649, and was an important and influential disciple of the Rosicrucian, Jacob Boehme. His Paradoxa, consists of 153 emblems, seemingly designed as aids to meditation, each with a short text. The original design of Freher included a Latin text, written around the circumference of the Maze: this is the Latin version of the English written at the head and foot of the design.
