SPIRITUALISM, SEANCES AND SLATE WRITING- EGLINGTON Facsimile of Direct Slate Writing, obtained by invisible means, in the presence of Mr. Adshead of Belper, who had offered a challenge for the then considerable sum of £500 to anyone who, not being a medium, could produce the same effects as William Eglington. The medium obtained this message in broad daylight - in 35 seconds, the spirit wrote these 33 lines. There are two messages, written together in opposite directions (one in mirror-writing). One message was from Adshead's deceased wife. From John S. Farmer, Twixt Two Worlds. A Narrative of the Life and Work of William Eglington, 1886.
