Nanopatterning, IBM research. Nanopatterning tool developed by scientists at IBM Research-Zurich, Switzerland. This nanoscale technique can create patterns and structures as small as 15 nanometres in size. Potential applications include nano-sized electronics and objects, ranging from microchips to opto-electronics to uses in medicine and life sciences. Photographed in March 2010.
