Jezero Crater, Mars. Satellite image showing the surface of the Jezero Crater on Mars, a potential landing site for a rover. Clay minerals have been detected in this ancient crater and a delta deposit indicates that water was once flowing into a lake. Since clays form in the presence of water, this crater would be a very good candidate for a lander to explore. Imaged by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) satellite.
