Diving apparatus patent, 1880. Artwork of a metal diving suit designed by Stephen M. Tasker. It was designed to withstand the pressure of diving in water while articulated joints allowed the wearer movement of arms and legs. A central tube provided an in-out flow of air and the entire suit is lowered and raised via a rope harness.
