US Navy C-3 blimp refuelling. Naval officers and others watching as the US Navy's C-3 blimp approaches an airfield with an experimental refuelling facility. These airships had a crew of four, a range of 2320 kilometres, and a cruising speed of 64 kilometres per hour. The C-3 blimp was destroyed in a fire in 1921.
