Spaghetti algae or green hairweed (Chaetomorpha linum) is formed of bright green fine filaments up to 30cm long. It is common in tidal pools right up to the splash zone. Saltwater aquarists use it to remove nitrates, buffer pH and produce oxygen. Photographed in Perros-Guirec, Brittany, France.
