Gaseous fire suppression system. Cylinders of fire suppression gases at a coal-fired power station. The cylinders contain Inergen, a mixture of 52% Nitrogen, 40% Argon and 8% CO2, and are connected to a network of pipes, release valves and nozzles which deliver the gases to the location of a fire. Gaseous fire suppression is the use of inert gases and chemical agents to extinguish fire and prevent re-ignition, whilst minimising risk to people or damage to equipment.
