Glaucous gull (Larus hyperboreus) feeding on the carcass of a seabird. This gull scavenges for food. It also hunts prey, such as small birds in flight. It breeds on Arctic, north Atlantic coasts and northern European coasts, but migrates in winter to the northern USA and the UK. Photographed in July at a nesting colony of Brunnich's guillemots (Uria lomvia) in Norway's Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic.
