Illustration of laser therapy in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. This in utero microsurgery involves the coagulation of placental anastomses between the two foetuses sharing the same placenta. A needle equipped with a visualisation system is introduced into the amniotic sac of the recipient. With the help of the ultrasound, the foetoscope and laser, the anastomoses between the twins will coagulate.
