NEW YORK: OPERA HOUSE. /nThe Italian Opera House (later, the National Theater) at Leonard and Church Streets, the first building in the United States erected exclusively for opera. It opened on 18 November 1833 and was destroyed by fire in 1839. Contemporary engraving.
