Tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) feeding on human blood. The tiger mosquito is native to Southeast Asia but has spread to other countries around the world. It is a vector of various disease causing pathogens including Yellow fever virus , dengue virus , Chikungunya virus. It also transmits various parasitic nematodes. Only females require a blood meal to develop their eggs. Photographed in Singapore.
