Aerial photograph of the Age-Nielsen-Glacier, at the coast of Liverpoolland, a peninsula of East Greenland. Liverpoolland is characterized by mountain ranges and deep fjords. The ice masses there are retreating because of climate change. The Age-Nielsen-Glacier is a tidal glacier. Its tongue floats on the seawater and moves with the tides up and down. Icebergs break off from the front of the glacier and drift into the nearby Arctic Ocean.
