This Labrador dog was trained by UK based charity Medical Detection Dogs to detect minute changes in blood sugar levels. When these levels fall or rise outside the normal range they will warn their owner by persistently jumping up or licking. Dog noses are highly sensitive and are able to detect molecules in parts per trillion. an alert dog offers their owner an extra level of safety in addition to regular blood glucose monitoring.
