Winghead shark (Eusphyra blochii). X-ray of a section through a winghead shark, showing its wide head (left). The winghead shark is one of about ten species of hammerhead sharks (family Sphyrnidae), which have their eyes set at the tips of their wide T-shaped head. Scientists think that this positioning gives a broader and more precise field of view. This specimen measures 38.5 centimetres in length.
