Cellar spider (family Pholcidae) with eggs. Cellar spiders are also known as daddy long-legs spiders. The cellar spider should not be confused with the harvestman or the crane fly which are also known as daddy long-legs. The cellar spider preys on other spiders, injecting them with venom from its fangs. Although native to the tropics it is now common in houses worldwide. It will breed at any time of the year, and the female carries 20 to 30 eggs in her pedipalps. Spiderlings are transparent with short legs and shed their skins many times as they mature.
