Mesitylene. Molecular model of the alkylbenzene hydrocarbon compound mesitylene (C9.H12), a derivative of benzene with three methyl substituents. Traditionally obtained from coal tar, it is used as a solvent in the laboratory. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (grey) and hydrogen (white).
