Bobcat. View of a bobcat (Felis or Lynx rufus) on a redrock cliff. A fully grown bobcat has a body length of 65-100 cm and a body weight of 6-16 kg. It preys on hares, cotton-tail rabbits and deer and is commonly known as the "wild cat". The bobcat is a solitary animal, living in a well- marked territory. It is an excellent climber and it can also swim but only does the latter in an emergency. The bobcat ranges from southern Canada to Mexico, however it is not found in the prairies. Photographed in the Unita National Forest, Utah, USA.
