Brain tumour. Light micrograph of a section through a meningioma in a brain. Meningiomas are tumours arising from the meninges - the membranes that surround the brain. They are usually benign (non-cancerous). Many produce no symptoms and require no treatment other than observation. Those that do cause symptoms may be treated with either radiotherapy or surgery.
