Paraceratherium prehistoric mammal, computer illustration. This extinct hornless rhinoceros is the largest terrestrial mammal to have ever existed. It lived around 34-23 million years ago, from the early to late Oligocene epoch, in what is now Eurasia. It is estimated to have weighed around 15-20 tonnes and measured around 4.8 metres at the shoulder.
