Anasazi pit house. Excavated remains of a pit house built by the Anasazi people and dating from the 12th century. It is part of an ancient Anasazi village displayed as part of the Anasazi State Park Museum, Boulder, Utah, USA. The Anasazi culture, also known as the Ancestral Pueblo peoples, flourished in the south-western USA from the 8th to 12th centuries.
