Balarama, Lakshmi and Vasudeva. Eastern India, perhaps Imadpur, Muzaffarpur District, Bengal. Dated in the 48th year of Mahipala (about AD 1043). Balarama, with plough and snake hoods, is brother to Krishna, here depicted on the right as Vasudeva. In the centre of the bronze group is Lakshmi, the shakti or female form of Vasudeva, an aspect of the god Vishnu.
