Avro Lancaster bomber in flight. This is one of only two remaining airworthy Lancasters. It flies with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The Lancaster was the most successful heavy bomber of the Second World War. It was capable of carrying a maximum bomb load of nearly ten tonnes.
