The Sino-Vietnam Friendship Bridge in Hekou, Yunnan Province across a river separating China (right) and Vietnam. On August 30, 1978 the Vietnamese pushed a railway car to the middle of the bridge and fencing off either side with barbed wire, effectively preventing railway traffic between the two countries.
