Fish farming research. Researchers testing a batch of trout to study their sexual maturation and the effect of sex hormones. The trout are being weighed, measured, and sampled for blood while anaesthetised. The individual trout are identified with an RFID (radio-frequency identification) chip that is being scanned here to record the data. This project is part of the PEIMA experimental fish farm (Pisciculture Experimentale INRA des Monts d'Arree) in Sizun, Finistere, Brittany, in north-western France.
