Field with gabbro boulders. Also called crusairs, these boulders once formed the landscape of parts of ancient Cornwall in the UK. These are the remains of eroded outcrops, equivalent to granite tors. Gabbro, a coarse-grained igneous rock, is formed by the slow and gradual crystallization of basaltic magma at large depth under the Earth's surface.
