Quartz seam in schist, close-up. Seams of quartz form in fissures or cracks in existing rocks, here a Cevennes schist. This black metamorphic rock, used as roof tiles, contains chlorite, and black and white micas. This specimen is part of the Geoscope geological park, located between Les Monts-Vert and Albaret-Sainte-Marie, central France.
