Exfoliation of coastal rocks. Exfoliation is a geological process of weathering that consists of the peeling off, by thin slabs, of the surface of a rock. The process may take place at any scale, varying from a few millimetres to several metres. Here, it is occuring in granites along the coast of south-western Australia.
