Orthoceras, nautiloid fossil. This extinct marine nautiloid cephalopod is related to the squid and octopus. It lived during the Ordovician, and has been found in Europe, North Africa and North America. Its name means 'straight horn' in reference to its elongated cone shape. This specimen is part of the collections held at the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
