These ten fish are (top to bottom, left to right): a Conger eel; a tube-eye fish (Stylephorus chordatus); a swordfish (Xiphias gladius); a silver trichiure (Trichiurus argenteus); a gymnote or electric eel; a blenny; an Odontognathus longfin herring; a haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus); a father lasher (Myoxocephalus scorpius); and a bandfish (Cepolidae). The orders are: apodal fishes (limbless), jugular fishes (pelvic fins in front of the pectoral fins), and thoracic fishes (ventral fins below the pectoral fins).
