GranTeCan telescope. Computer artwork of the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC, or GranTeCan), which is sited at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, La Palma, Canary Islands. This 10.4-metre reflecting telescope is located at an altitude of 2267 metres and was the world's largest single-aperture optical telescope when it opened in 2009. It is operated by institutions from Spain, the USA and Mexico.
