ARTEMIS satellites and the Moon. Computer artwork of NASA's twin ARTEMIS (Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence and Electrodynamics of the Moon's Interaction with the Sun) satellites (ARTEMIS P1 and P2) in orbit near the Moon. These two satellites were originally part of the five-satellite Earth orbiting THEMIS (Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms) mission launched on 17th February 2007. They were moved into lunar orbit in 2008.
