Bennet percussor with ivory pleximeter dating from 1860s, England. A percussor is a small hammer used for testing reflexes and for percussive examinations of the chest. The ivory pleximeter would be placed in contact with the skin to receive the strike of the percussor. It bares the owner's name, 'Taplin'. The handle of the percussor is ivory and the head is made out of nickel.
