Spiral galaxy NGC 891, combined optical image. The galaxy lies around 30 million light years from Earth in the constellation Andromeda. It is seen edge-on from Earth, and as such its spiral arms are only seen as a dark lane of dust crossing its bright nucleus. Image compiled from data from the 8.2 metre Subaru Telescope, Hubble Space Telescope, and 0.9 metre telescope of the West Mountain Observatory Utah.
