HD 52265 is a G-type main sequence star approximately 92 light-years away in the constellation of Monoceros. It is 18% more massive and almost twice as luminous than our Sun. This artwork depicts the star, whose spin axis is highly inclined with respect to the line of sight from Earth, along with its exoplanet, called HD 52265b. The planet, which has almost exactly the same mass as Jupiter, orbits the star at a distance of 0.5 astronomical units with a period of just under 120 Earth days.
