Putney High Street. 19th-century artwork of pedestrians and a horse-drawn cart in Putney High Street, Surrey, UK. Putney was part of the county of Surrey until 1889, when it became part of London. The church at centre is St Mary's Church. In the background at centre left, across Old Putney Bridge (1729, demolished 1880s) is All Saints Church, Fulham. Both sites have been places of worship since the High Middle Ages, with their towers dating from the 15th century. This artwork is from 1837.
