James Chester Bradley (1884-1975), US entomologist. Bradley specialised in the study of Hymenoptera (wasps, bees and ants). He studied at Cornell University, receiving his doctorate in 1910. He spent his career at Cornell University, as assistant professor of entomology from 1911 to 1920, then professor of invertebrate zoology from 1920 to 1952. He also took part in and led field expeditions within the USA and to Canada and South America. One such expedition was the First Cornell University Biological Expedition to the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia. His publications included 'Insect Life' (1925), a manual for the Boy Scouts of America.
