Singapore. Infrared satellite image of Singapore. North is at the top. In the infrared range, vegetation is in shades of red, buildings are light blue and water is black. Singapore is a major industrial and distribution centre with docks around its coast & has a number of airports. Much of Singapore's vegetation has been cleared for urban development but there are nature reserves around the lakes in the centre of the island. The island is separated from Malaysia (top) by the narrow Johor Strait. A bridge can be seen running across the Strait. Image taken by the American Landsat satellite in April.
